Cabin in the Woods

A cabin in the woods. I wanted to push my self to practice and learn some new tools in the Unreal Engine. This is my second time using the landscape and foliage tools in Unreal. One of my goals was to create good lighting that produced strong shadows. I modeled the cabin, shelves, fireplace, lantern, and bed with the blanket. I made the brick, fire, and the wood shelving around the fireplace materials. All other assets and textures I got from Quixel Bridge. The trees came from the Epic Games store. I created the layered landscape material using textures from Quixel bridge. I was unable to get the starter content to show in my content browser (even after double checking that I added it). So, I recreated the material using online tutorials to use it in the Niagara system. This project had a lot of challenges that were fun to overcome and offered many great learning experiences.

I was not able to get the starter content in Unreal Engine to appear. So I used an online tutorial to create this sub UV material for the niagara system; to create the fire.
